Airyca’s Favorite Things #6 – New Balance WT10v3 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes

New Balance Trail Running Shoes - The Captain's Log | www.captainairyca.com

As you can see by the title, this favorite things post is about a very specific model of shoes that I absolutely love. I was inspired to write this post because I actually went out to get another pair of these the other day and realized that this particular model is no longer being made. sad face This model, the women’s New Balance WT10v3, is SO COMFY!

These shoes are perfect for people that don’t like bulky shoes. They’re minimalist, so they don’t have arch support (which I like), yet still have enough padding in the heel to stay comfortable even if you’re running/standing for periods of time. One of my favorite parts about these shoes is that you can feel the ground when you walk, which makes me feel more connected to the world and more in control of myself.

I use these for everyday life, running, lifting, light day hiking, just about everything. I still wear a thicker shoe when I go on long distance, harder hikes with a lot of rocks and things, but that’s it. If you’re into the minimalist/barefoot life, these shoes are just awesome. I tried Vibram 5 finger shoes, but I didn’t like how my toes actually felt restricted by them. They were fun, but these New Balance shoes were destiny for my feet.

The newer model of the New Balance Minimus Trail-Running shoes have a much thicker sole. I assume they did this for durability, or perhaps the minimalist shoe culture is dying. Whatever the reason, it made me sad. I’ve had this pair for a year and they’ve still got plenty of life left in them, so I’ll wear ’em until they fall apart!

On top of all of that, Survival Lilly from YouTube wears this exact pair of shoes except in a different color, so you know they’re cool. 😀

Are any of y’all into the minimalist shoes? What shoes should I get next now that my favorites are out of production?

Until next time,

PEACE!
